Old Town Alexandria's Market Square Farmer’s Market is thought to be one of the nation's oldest continually operating farmer's markets. Farmers and artists have been selling their products since 1753. The market is open every Saturday morning from 5:30-10:30am throughout the year.

In addition to area produce growers and other typical farmers market fare, organizers are looking to line up local chefs to perform cooking demonstrations. Live music and other forms of entertainment, including a youth dance troupe, will also be regular features of the weekly event

Open year round, the Market hosts more than 15 local farmers and producers in the winter and more than 40 the rest of the year. Vendors offer fresh locally grown fruits and vegetables, cheeses, meats, baked goods, plants, and wine. The Fairfax County Master Gardeners also staff a booth at the Market to answer gardening questions. |
